Milwaukee pH meter calibration fluid (4.01 / 7.01 / 10.01) is a solution used to calibrate and adjust household and horticultural pH meters. PH meters need to be calibrated regularly, as failure to do so may result in incorrect readings. For regular daily use min. weekly calibration is recommended.

Use
The meter should be placed in the selected pH solution, which measures the potential formed between the pH and reference electrodes and saves its value in its memory. The electrodes must then be placed in a solution of a different pH and the potential re-measured and stored in memory. From these 2 measurements, the instrument can already calculate the pH of the solution from the potential measured in any other solution. Buffer solutions with given pH values (eg pH 4.01, pH 6.86, pH 9.18) should be used for calibration. For accurate measurements min. A 2-point calibration must be performed. Most of the pH measurements used in horticulture take place between pH 5-7, so it is recommended to perform the calibration with buffers with pH = 6.86 and pH = 4.01.
The pH calibration solution is required for pH measuring instruments.
