Soil pH can be a determining factor for your plants; whether they are going to grow or simply just rot away due to lack of nutrients absorbed. If the pH balance is off, the plants will most likely not be able to absorb enough nutrients from the soil to grow. A general rule is to maintain your soil at a pH level close to 7 (neutral). Although the soil pH fluctuates if there’s heavy rain or extreme humidity, always keep in mind that on a normal day the soil pH should be around 7 (+/- 1pH).

 

To use the meter, simply press the On-button and remove the protection lid from the probe, stick it into the soil and you’ll get an instant reading. The moisture and sunlight levels are shown on default, so to switch between the temperature (°F / °C) and pH value, just use the manual switch at the back of the meter.
